God does not call you to be fearless — He calls you to be courageous. The difference is that courage is not the absence of fear; it is moving forward in the strength He provides.

Scripture returns again and again to the call for courage — not the courage that comes from our own strength or confidence, but the courage that flows from knowing who walks with us. God knows we are prone to fear. He does not shame us for it. But He consistently calls us to courage. These affirmations are for the moments when the task feels too large, the opposition too strong, or the road too long. They are reminders that the God who calls you is the God who equips you — and that His strength is made perfect in your weakness.
I am strong — not in my own strength, but in the Lord and in His mighty power. I put on the full armor of God. I stand firm. The battle I face is not mine alone. The God of angel armies goes before me, stands beside me, and fights on my behalf. I am not strong because I feel strong. I am strong because He is strong, and I am in Him.
For God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind. The fear I feel does not come from God. He has given me something better: power to act, love to sustain me, and a sound mind to think clearly. I reject the spirit of fear and receive what God has actually given me.
I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation — whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Christ who gives me strength. Not some things. Not easy things. All things — including the hard, the painful, the seemingly impossible — through the One who strengthens me.
When I am weak, then I am strong. God's power is made perfect in weakness. I do not need to pretend to have it all together. I do not need to manufacture strength I do not have. I come to God in my weakness, and He meets me there with grace that is sufficient — more than sufficient — for everything I face today.
