Declarations of

Family and Generations

God's covenant faithfulness extends to a thousand generations. What you declare over your family today has the power to shape what your children and grandchildren inherit.

"As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."

Joshua 24:15

Declaring God's Covenant Over Your Family

The Bible is a family story. From Abraham's household to the household of Cornelius, God's covenant moves through families and generations. The promises He made to Abraham were not just for Abraham — they were for his descendants. The same is true today. What we declare over our families — the blessings we speak, the covenants we make, the faith we model — has generational consequences. These declarations are for parents, grandparents, spouses, and anyone who carries a burden for their family. They are for those who want to break generational patterns of sin and establish new patterns of blessing. They are for those who are standing in the gap for family members who are far from God.

Declarations

As for Me and My House, We Will Serve the Lord

I declare, as Joshua declared before me: as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. I make this declaration not as a boast but as a covenant — a deliberate choice to align my household with the purposes of God. I declare that my home is a place of worship, of prayer, of the Word of God, and of His presence. I set my face toward God and I lead my family in the same direction.

Joshua 24:15Evangelical / Protestant

I Break Generational Patterns and Establish New Ones

I declare that the generational patterns of sin, addiction, poverty, abuse, and brokenness that have run through my family line are broken in Jesus' name. Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law. I am a new creation, and I establish new patterns — patterns of faith, of love, of integrity, of generosity — that will bless my children and my children's children.

Galatians 3:13Charismatic / Evangelical

My Children Are a Heritage from the Lord

I declare that my children are a heritage from the Lord, a reward from Him. They are not accidents — they are gifts. They are not burdens — they are arrows in the hand of a warrior. I declare that they will know God from their youth, that His Word will be written on their hearts, and that they will not depart from the way of the Lord. I pray for them and I trust God with them.

Psalm 127:3Reformed / Evangelical

God's Faithfulness Extends to a Thousand Generations

I declare that the Lord is faithful to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments. The covenant He made with my ancestors in faith is still active. The faithfulness He has shown to His people throughout history is the same faithfulness He shows to my family today. I trust Him with my marriage, my children, my grandchildren, and every generation that comes after me.
