For a Safe Birth

InterdenominationalPregnancy, Birth & Unborn Life

Full Text

Faithful God, The hour of birth is drawing near. Thank You for carrying mother and child to this moment. Calm every anxious thought and prepare the mother's body, mind, and spirit for labor. Grant endurance through each contraction and wisdom for every decision. Give the father or support person a peaceful presence and attentive love. Guide the doctors, nurses, midwives, anesthesiologists, and every member of the birth team. Help them recognize complications quickly and respond with skill. We ask for a safe delivery, protection from infection and injury, healthy breathing and strength for the child, and a sound recovery for the mother. If the birth unfolds differently from the plan, give everyone flexibility, clarity, and peace. Let this room be filled with Your presence. May fear give way to courage, confusion to wisdom, and exhaustion to sustaining grace. Receive this child into the world surrounded by love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
