Life is full of thresholds — moments when one chapter closes and another begins. Graduations, marriages, divorces, moves, job changes, retirements, the birth of a child, the death of a parent. These transitions can be exhilarating, terrifying, or both at once. These texts are gathered for those standing at the edge of something new, something ending, or something unknown — to remind them that the God who led His people through the wilderness is the same God who leads us through every transition.
Lord, I am standing at a threshold — a moment of change I did not fully choose or fully understand. I am not sure what lies ahead, and the uncertainty is unsettling. But You are the God who goes before me. You have prepared the way. Give me the courage to step forward, the wisdom to navigate what I find, and the faith to trust that You are already in the place I am going.
I am not walking into this new season alone. God goes before me, walks beside me, and has already been in the place I am heading. Change does not unsettle Him. Uncertainty does not surprise Him. I choose today to trust that this transition — however it feels — is held in the hands of a God who works all things together for good for those who love Him.
I declare that I am open to the new thing God is doing in my life. I release my grip on the old season and receive the new one with open hands. I declare that every ending in my life is also a beginning, and that God's purposes for me are not diminished by change — they are often advanced by it. I step forward in faith into the unknown, knowing that God is already there.
Father, I need grace to let go. This ending — this chapter closing — is harder than I expected. There is grief in it, even when the change is good. Give me the grace to honor what was, to grieve what is lost, and to release what I cannot carry into the next season. Let me leave well, so that I can arrive well. And let me trust that You are Lord of both the leaving and the arriving.
