A Prayer for Healing

InterdenominationalHealing and Illness

Full Text

Heavenly Father, I come before You with this body — with this pain, this diagnosis, this uncertainty. You are the God who heals. You healed the leper, the blind man, the woman who had been ill for twelve years. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. I ask for Your healing touch. I do not come demanding it as a right, but asking for it as a child who trusts a loving Father. Whether You heal miraculously, through medicine, through the slow work of time, or through the grace to endure what is not yet healed — I trust You. I trust that You are at work even in what I cannot see. Be glorified in this body. Let my response to illness be a testimony to Your faithfulness. And let me know, in the midst of this, that I am not alone — that You are with me in every doctor's office, every sleepless night, every moment of pain and fear.

Scripture References

James 5:14–15

"Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up."

Psalm 103:2–3

"Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits — who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases."
