Be Near to Me in This Moment

InterdenominationalAnxiety and Fear

Full Text

God, be near to me now. My body feels as though I am in danger. My heart is racing, my breathing feels difficult, and fear is rising faster than I can reason with it. Help me remember that this moment is not the whole of my life. Anchor me in what is real. I am here. You are here. I can take one slow breath, then another. I do not need to fight every sensation or predict what it means. Guide me toward safety and toward someone who can help me if I need assistance. Give me permission to sit down, to speak honestly, and to receive care without embarrassment. Lord Jesus, hold my mind and body in Your mercy. Let this wave pass without becoming the author of my story. Restore steadiness little by little. Surround me with Your peace and with trustworthy people. I entrust this moment to You. Amen.

Scripture References

Isaiah 43:2

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze."
