Love Does Not Require Control

InterdenominationalAnxiety and Fear

Full Text

I can love someone deeply without controlling every circumstance around them. My responsibility is faithfulness, not omnipotence. I can listen, pray, speak truth, establish wise boundaries, and act when action is needed. I can also allow another person to grow, decide, and face appropriate consequences. God loves this person even more perfectly than I do. I may entrust them to His care again and again.

Scripture References

1 Corinthians 13:7

"It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

Psalm 121:8

"The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."
