The Past Will Not Possess the Present

InterdenominationalAnxiety and Fear

Full Text

I declare that the past will not possess every part of my present or dictate the whole of my future. I will honor what happened by seeking truth and healing, not by surrendering my life to fear. I will establish necessary boundaries and receive qualified help. God is making room for newness. Step by step, I will reclaim safety, relationship, purpose, and joy.

Scripture References

Isaiah 43:18–19

"“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”"

2 Corinthians 5:17

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
