When My Mind Will Not Be Still

InterdenominationalAnxiety and Fear

Full Text

Lord Jesus, My mind is racing, my body is tense, and every concern seems to be demanding my attention at once. I am trying to solve tomorrow, protect everyone I love, and prepare for every possible outcome. I cannot carry all of this. You already know each circumstance that frightens me. Nothing in my thoughts is hidden from You, and nothing in my future is beyond Your presence. I bring You the worries I can name and the uneasiness I cannot explain. Help me slow down. Quiet the noise within me. Lead me away from imagined catastrophes and back to the grace You are giving me for this present moment. Show me what requires action, what requires patience, and what I must release into Your hands. Guard my heart and mind with the peace that comes from belonging to You. Give me courage to ask for help, wisdom to receive good counsel, and humility to care for my body as well as my soul. When I cannot see the whole road, be the light for my next step. When I cannot find the words, receive even my silence as prayer. I place this burden before You. Hold me when I feel unable to hold myself. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
