The Christian does not fight for victory; they fight from victory, because Christ has already defeated sin, death, and the enemy at the cross. These prayers are grounded in that reality. They are not superstitious formulas but faith-filled declarations of what is already true in Christ. They are for those who sense spiritual opposition, who are battling persistent temptation, or who are standing in the gap for others.

Lord, I put on the full armor of God today. I take up the belt of truth — let me walk in honesty and integrity. I put on the breastplate of righteousness — let my heart be protected by right standing in Christ. I take up the shield of faith — let it extinguish every lie and accusation. I put on the helmet of salvation — let my mind be guarded by the truth of who I am in you. And I take up the sword of the Spirit — your Word, which is living and active. I stand firm. Amen.

Against Persistent Temptation

Father, I am being tempted in an area where I keep falling. I am tired of the cycle. I know you have provided a way out — help me find it and take it. I submit to you. I resist the enemy.
