The entire Christian life flows from one source: the love of God poured out in Jesus Christ. To pray about love is to return again and again to the center — to receive what God has freely given and to let it overflow into how we treat one another. These texts span the full range of love: divine love received, love for neighbor practiced, love for enemy attempted, and love for self restored.
Father, I ask with Paul that I might have power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ — a love that surpasses knowledge. I confess that I often live as though Your love is conditional, as though I must earn what You have already freely given. Let the reality of Your love penetrate every defended corner of my heart, and let it overflow into how I love others.
I am loved by God — not because of what I have done or who I have become, but because of who He is. His love for me is not a reward; it is a gift. Nothing I do today will make Him love me more, and nothing I have done in the past makes Him love me less. I receive this love today and choose to live from its fullness rather than striving for its approval.
I declare that love is the greatest commandment and my highest calling. I am not defined by my gifts, my achievements, or my failures — I am defined by love. I declare that the love of God in me is stronger than offense, more patient than frustration, and more persistent than rejection. I choose love today as an act of obedience and a declaration of who I am in Christ.
Lord Jesus, You loved the unlovable, welcomed the outcast, and forgave those who crucified You. We confess that our love is small and selective. Expand our capacity to love — especially those who are difficult, different, or have hurt us. Give us Your eyes to see the image of God in every person we encounter, and Your heart to respond with grace.
