I Am Loved with an Everlasting Love

ContemplativeGod's Love and Grace

Full Text

I am loved. Not conditionally, not partially, not provisionally — but completely, unconditionally, and eternally. The love of God for me is not based on my performance. It does not increase when I do well and decrease when I fail. It is not earned and it cannot be lost. God loved me before I knew Him, before I sought Him, before I had anything to offer. He loved me while I was still a sinner. He loves me now in all my incompleteness, all my inconsistency, all my struggle. Nothing can separate me from this love — not death, not life, not angels, not demons, not the present, not the future, not any power in all creation. I choose today to receive this love rather than just believe it as a doctrine. I let it reach the places in me that feel unlovable. I let it speak to the shame, the self-rejection, the fear of abandonment. I am loved with an everlasting love, and that love is drawing me even now.

Romans 8:38–39

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
