Declaration

I Declare That God's Strength Is Made Perfect in My Weakness

ContemplativeCancer Diagnosis

Full Text

I declare that God's strength is made perfect in my weakness. I am weak today — depleted by treatment, exhausted by the demands of illness, unable to manufacture the strength or the hope that I wish I had. And I declare that this is exactly the condition in which God's power is most fully displayed. I do not have to be strong. I only have to be willing to receive the strength that God provides. I declare that I am not disqualified from God's care by my weakness. I declare that the grace of God is sufficient for this day — for this hour, for this moment. I will not pretend to be stronger than I am. I will be honest about my weakness, and I will let God be strong in it.
