Lord, I am not doing well today. The nausea, the pain, the fatigue — my body is struggling, and I am struggling with it. I do not have the energy to pray eloquently. I do not have the strength to feel hopeful. I can only say: I am here, and I need You. That is the whole prayer. Be near to me in this weakness. Let me not be ashamed of how depleted I am. Let me not feel that my suffering means something has gone wrong spiritually. This is what treatment does to a body, and I am enduring it. Hold me in it. Give me rest when I can rest. Give me relief when relief is possible. And give me the grace to receive help from the people around me without feeling like a burden. I am not alone. You are here.
