While I Wait for Medical Answers

God of truth and mercy, Something in my body has frightened me. I am waiting for an appointment, a test, a report, or an explanation, and my mind keeps moving toward the worst possible outcome. You know my body completely. You also know how limited my understanding is. Protect me from denial, but also protect me from allowing fear to become my physician. Lead me to appropriate care. Give wisdom to the medical professionals who examine me. Help me describe my symptoms clearly, ask good questions, and receive facts before drawing conclusions. When I search for answers, keep me from sources that intensify panic without giving trustworthy guidance. When I am tempted to check, measure, or imagine endlessly, help me pause and return to the present. Whatever the results may be, let truth arrive with grace. If treatment is needed, give me courage for it. If reassurance is given, help me receive it. If uncertainty remains, teach me to live without allowing it to consume me. My life is held by You—not by my fears and not by a medical report. In Jesus’ name, amen.
