Lord, I did not know if I would get to pray this prayer. I am in remission. The scans are clear. The doctors are cautiously hopeful. And I am standing here, in this body that has been through so much, trying to find words for what I feel. Thank You. Thank You for the medicine that worked, for the doctors who cared, for the family who stayed, for the prayers that were prayed over me. Thank You for the days I thought I could not endure and somehow did. I know that remission is not the same as cure. I know that fear may return. I know that the road behind me was hard and the road ahead is uncertain. But today — today I am grateful. Let me not waste this gratitude. Let it change how I live, how I love, and how I hold the ordinary days that I once took for granted.
