Remission Is a Gift I Receive with Gratitude

I am in remission, and I choose to receive this as a gift. Not as something I earned, not as proof that my faith was sufficient, not as a guarantee about the future — but as a gift, freely given, to be received with gratitude and held with open hands. I will not take this gift for granted. I will not pretend that the road behind me was not hard, or that the road ahead holds no uncertainty. But today, I am grateful. I am alive. I am here. And I choose to live differently because of what I have been through — more present, more grateful, more aware of what matters and what does not. This remission is a grace. I receive it as such.
